As a mortgage broker, we are required by law to act in your best interests and to prioritise your interests when providing credit assistance. We are transparent about products, your options, applicable fees and charges, and any conflicts of interest, and we are committed to ensuring the product selected meets your needs, requirements and best interests at the time we assist you.
We may charge a fee for providing credit assistance. If a fee applies, the details will be set out in a Credit Quote which we will give you before submitting your loan application. You may also have to pay other fees and charges (such as application fees and valuation costs) to the lender or other parties — review your loan contract documentation for details.
Our aggregator receives commission from lenders and then pays us commission in relation to settled loans. An upfront commission is paid by the lender on settled (drawn-down) loans, calculated as a percentage of the loan amount and usually paid after settlement. A trail commission is paid by the lender on settled loans, calculated monthly on the outstanding balance and paid in arrears. These commissions are not payable by you. The specific commissions relating to your loan will be disclosed in the Summary of Requirements and Credit Proposal we provide when we give you credit assistance.
From time to time we may also receive non-commission benefits (such as training, professional development, entertainment, gifts or conference attendance) from a lender or our aggregator, at no extra cost to you. Where these are apparent as a result of assisting you, they will be disclosed to you. We maintain an entertainment and hospitality register, available on request.
We have access to a panel of lenders through our aggregator, Connective. The lenders we have used most over the last 12 months are ANZ, Westpac, Macquarie Bank, St George Bank, HomeStart Finance and Connective Select (Bendigo Bank). A full list of lenders on our panel is available on request.
We obtain referrals from a range of sources, including accountants, financial planners and real estate agents. If you were introduced or referred to us, we may pay the referrer a commission or fee. Details of any such commission or fee will be included in the Summary of Requirements and Credit Proposal document.
